I hope everyone had a nice three day weekend! We were busy today! Here's what we did:
Math-We learned how to estimate answers by rounding the numbers being added or subtracted to a postion that makes sense.
Word Study- Groups 1 and 2 took their test while Groups 3 and 4 did a buddy check.
Reading-I met with Archer's Quest and Little House in the Big Woods. We discussed what happened in their assigned chapters and went over some of the questions they asked. We will be focusing on how to ask good questions based on our reading for the next few weeks in Reading Workshop.
Writing-The students were paired up to give some helpful advice to each other about their drafts. We discussed what some good questions to ask about a draft are. They include: Do I have any confusing parts? Are there any words I need to change to be more specific?
Social Studies-We discussed the climate and temperature of Missouri, as well as some renewable and nonrenewable natural resources in our state.
