September 1st

I can't believe it's already September!  Hopefully, the fall weather will arrive soon :)

Here's what we were busy working on today:
Math-We reviewed Chapter 2 in preparation for our test tomorrow.  Students may use the online math book instead of their math book if they choose.  Check out the link from earlier this week with information for logging onto the website.

Reading-We learned how to make book recommendations for friends in our class and started a recommendation wall.

Word Study-Groups 1 and 2 met with me to do their word sort.  They were also given their word study contract.  It is due September 8th.  Groups 3 and 4 prepared their words for the sort they will do tomorrow.

Writing-We met with partners today to get some advice on our drafts.

Social Studies-The students shared their regions posters with the class.  Please see the previous blog post for pictures!

Here's tonight's homework:
Math- Study Chapter 2!  Test tomorrow!

Writing-All drafts need to be finished tonight.  This means copying your chosen draft from your Writer's Notebook onto drafting paper.  Remember to skip lines.  You do not need to make any revisions or edits yet.  Just finish copying the draft.

Have a great night and stay dry!
