September 10th

Happy Friday!  We had a very busy day today, a day that made me wish there were more hours in the school day!  Here's what we did:

Math: We worked on some word problems and needed to figure out whether an exact answer or an estimated answer was needed.  We will review Chapter 3 on Monday and test on Tuesdsay.

Reading-We visited the library today to hear about the Mark Twain nominees for this year.  They are a special group of 12 books.  If students would like to take the challenge, they can read 4 of them by February and participate in a special event at school.

Word Study-We went over last night's grammar homework.  Some students shared the noun and adjective paragraphs they wrote.  Check back Monday to read the paragraphs on the blog!

Social Studies-We took the test and I will have them graded on Monday.

We also had a counseling lesson with Mrs. Critchlow and met with our first grade buddes this afternoon!

We also celebrated Hope's birthday today-Happy Birthday Hope!

This weekend's homework:
Math-WS 3.6, all problems

Reading-I will meet with Class Clown and Morgan's Zoo on Monday.

Word Study-All contracts are due Monday.  I have most of them, but am still missing a couple.

Don't forget to write at least 3 entries in your Writer's Notebook each week and to read at least 100 minutes a week!  Have a great weekend!
