Here's what we did today:
Math-Students worked very hard on the Chapter 14 Math test! Those not in Leap got their tests back today.
Reading-Students took a short assessment on Fact/Opinion and will get it back tomorrow. Tomorrow we are beginning a study of fiction and will be reading Thunder Cake.
Writing-We talked about how to make good transitions within each paragraph by combining sentences, grouping similar topics together and using transition words. Students worked on drafting and on revising for fluency.
Students also worked on a MAP-like Reading activity to practice using RAP and we went over part of this month's Math Tungsten.
Homework:
Math-Correct test and get signed if needed. I will only accept corrected tests tomorrow. If students do not make corrections tonight, I will not assign points back. I told them to treat this like a homework assignment. Most students did very well on the test!
Reading-Groups meet Thursday.
*Tomorrow is Be There Day! Please do not miss school except in case of illness or unavoidable conflicts. Also, parent drop offs, please know that students should be in their seats in the classroom by 8:45 so they need to arrive at school before that time.
