Here's what we did today:
Math-Students took the Chapter 8 test. I will hand them back tomorrow.
Word Study-I met with Groups 3 and 4 while Groups 1 and 2 prepared their words for their sort.
Reading-As a class, we wrote a summary of In My Own Backyard and then narrowed it down to 25 words. The students are getting very good at telling a summary of the main ideas!
Writing-We continued publishing our personal narratives and are also working on a free choice piece.
Social Studies-We learned about some famous artists, writers and sports teams from Missouri. We listened to some jazz musicians, viewed paintings and building and heard some poems all by Missouri artists! We also had a chance to share the information we learned about some Missouri festivals yesterday and discuss the blog comments from those students who posted about their culture last night. Feel free to post tonight if you haven't already!

I found out I am half Guatemalan and half Italian.My birth mom is Guatemalan and my birth dad is Italian. One thing my culture celebrates is a quincenerra!
ReplyDeleteI found out that i am German,Russin,Scottish,Irish,Hungrian,and Austrian.Also I found out that my moms dad went through Ellis Island when he was like two or three years old. His real last name is Finkelstien but he changed it in 1946 when he got married.
