November 19th

Sorry I did not post the past two days; due to meetings on Early Release day and a technology training yesteray afternoon, I did not have a chance.  But I hope the week has gone well for everyone!

I was actually out this morning for a literacy meeting, but here's what the kids did today:
Math-They went over lesson 10.1 on multiplication patterns.  All homework was actually completed in class.  It is really important that students remember to make sure the number of zeroes in the factors and the product are equal.  If the basic fact has a zero in it, however, the product will have an extra zero.  Here is an example: 5x700=3500, 5x600=3000.

Word Study-Students created drawings of a prepositional phrase they wrote.  These will be displayed outside our classroom so come and take a look!

Reading-All Reading groups met today.

Writing-We continued our persuasive letters by choosing a topic and three convincing reasons to support that topic.

Social Studies-We reviewed for the Chapter 3 test which is on Monday.

Homework:
Word Study-Finish prepositional drawings if needed.

Social Studies-Study Chapter 3.  Packet is also due Monday, as well as the optional extra credit.

Read and Write!

Please remember to bring in items for Adopt a Family!  Have a great weekend and don't forget that there is no school next Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday!
