Here's what we did:
Math-We estimated a factor in a two by one digit multiplication problem and then solved for the estimated answer. Tomorrow we will begin solving two by one digit problems.
Word Study-I gave the students the same assessment (25 words) that I did at the beginning of the year to put them into their Spelling groups. This will allow me to see how they have progressed and adjust the groups as needed.
Social Studies-Students took the Chapter 3 test today. I will hand these back tomorrow. We also shared all the dioramas that were brought in. I'm very impressed by the creativity!
Science-Students went to Science today and will continue to see Mr. Phillips for the remainder of the quarter.
Homework:
Math-WS 10.2, all problems
Science-Bring in an empty water bottle, half filled with vegetable oil by December 1st.
I am not requiring 100 reading minutes or three Writer's Notebook entries this week; however, I don't want to discourage anyone from not reading or writing. Students should continue to read and write as much as they'd like!
