Happy last day of November! I can't believe it's already December tomorrow! Here's what we did today:
Math-We quickly went over multiplying when there are numerous zeroes in one of the factors and then did lots and lots of multiplication problems! We used our Active Expressions to type in the answers and see how we did!
Word Study-We will be starting new spelling groups tomorrow. I have just re-assessed the students to see which spelling principles they have mastered and to adjust the groups as needed.
Reading-We looked at the same article from yesterday and found that it was much easier to understand when looking at the different text features.
Writing-Students drafted the first paragraph of their persuasive letters. In the first paragraph we include an attention grabber, the opinion statement, three persuasive reasons and a closing sentence. Tomorrow the students will work on the their three supporting paragraphs. Each paragraph will focus on one of their three persuasive reasons. We will end with a closing paragraph later this week.
We also went over the Reading Tungsten this afternoon and will be taking December's next week.
Homework:
Math-WS 10.5, odds and all MR
Don't forget to read, write and bring in a water bottle half filled with vegetable oil for Science.
Adopt a Family ends Friday!
Have a great night!
