April 25th

I hope everyone had a great Easter and stayed safe and dry!  Here's what we did today:
Math: We went over adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators.  There will be a short quiz tomorrow.

Word Study-Groups 1 and 2 did a buddy check while Groups 3 and 4 met with me to go over the words they found on their search and then worked on their contracts.

Reading-The students met in groups.  We spent some time looking at book reviews on http://www.kirkusreviews.com/ because for groups on Thursday the students need to write a review of their group book.  They should not look up the review for their book.  We'll look at these on Thursday!

Writing-We talked about how to analyze the main idea, point of view, and feelings of a poem.  The students will be analyzing two poems for their poetry collection.  We also looked at some free verse poems.

We also switched for Science today, but they should still be working on learning their states and capitals.

Homework:
Math-Study for short (10 question) quiz.

Word Study-Groups 1/2 test tomorrow
