Here's what we did today:
Math-We learned how to add fractions that have unlike denominators such as 1/4+2/3.
Word Study-I met with Groups 3 and 4 to complete their sorts while Groups 1 and 2 did their word search.
Reading-I met with some students today to practice retelling short passages of either fiction or non-fiction. This will help to prepare them for the DRA test which will be given in the next few weeks to assess students' reading levels.
Writing-We wrote cinquain poems about spring. We also visited the library where Mrs. Graef shared many poems with the students.
Social Studies-We worked on a packet to help with the states and capitals. We also looked up some good websites to practice states and capitals. A google search will pop up many great sites to use!
Homework:
Math-WS 22.5--odds
Reading-Groups meet tomorrow
Writing-Do something with poetry tonight . . . read some poems, write a poem by yourself or with a family member, look up poems and poetry activities online!
Social Studies-Keep working on the states and capitals!
Have a great night!
