We had a great day to finish up MAP testing! I'm so proud of the kids for all the hard work they put into the test. I know they all tried their best!
Thank you to everyone for contributing to our pizza party. The kids had a great time and I think the room will smell like Domino's for a few weeks :)
Here's what else we did today:
Reading-The kids met in their literature circles.
Writing-We continued to share games. Poetry will be our next focus. Followed by fiction.
Social Studies-We learned more about Missouri's state government and also learned about our county and municipal governments. Chapter 9 test will be on Monday.
Homework:
Reading-Groups meet on Monday. Assignment: Draw a DETAILED picture of a scene from your book. Make sure to include any important characters from the scene, the setting, and the action. This should be in color. On the back of the sheet please write a sentence or two explaining what part of the book your drawing is showing.
Social Studies-Test Monday/Packet due Monday
Writing-Writer's Notebook
*Tomorrow is Jingles for Jacob. Kids should wear blue and bring money to help out Jacob, a Truman 1st grader, who is suffering from a brain tumor and receiving treatment in Houston.
