I hope everyone had a nice weekend and stayed warm!
Here's what we did today:
Math-We learned two ways of doing 2 by 2 digit multiplication: regrouping and partial products. On their homework tonight, the students will practice both ways.
Word Study-We are covering prepositions again to ensure understanding. We discussed that a preposition must have an object that follows it (noun or pronoun) and the sentence must still be a sentence even if the prepositional phrase is taken out.
Reading-In pairs, the students explored an expository text and created a text feature that wasn't in the book already, such as a graph, table or diagram. They also met in their Reading Groups.
Writing-We edited the persuasive letters again and will begin publishing tomorrow.
Homework:
Math-WS 12.1-From #1-17, the odds need to be completed by regrouping and the evens by partial products. The rest can be completed as stated on the sheet. The Chapter 12 test will be Friday.
Reading-Read 100 minutes this week-Groups meet Wednesday
Writing-Writer's Notebook--finish editing if you need to
Science-WS is due tomorrow.
Have a great night!
