Here's what we did today:
Math-We learned about 3 dimensional shapes such as cubes, prisms and pyramids. We talked about what the edges, faces, and vertices were for each shape.
Word Study-Groups 1/2 got their new words today. Group 1 is working on words with the -el, -le, -il, -al endings. Group 2 is working on words that begin with either the hard or soft g and c sound.
Reading-Students took a short assessment on a non-fiction piece about school uniforms and we also went over the February Tungsten together.
Writing-We are all finished publishing! Tomorrow we are sharing our biographies.
We also went over the Math Tungsten this afternoon.
Homework:
Math-WS 30.1, all problems--There is an optional extra credit assignment (5 points on the next test) due Thursday. Using the 8 shapes on the re-teach side of tonight's homework, students need to find an object at home that has each shape, draw each object, and label each object with what shape it is.
Reading-Groups meet tomorrow. For their group assignment, students need to complete the Ranking worksheet (not the rating side, just the ranking side) and fill in a box of their long line of paper for each chapter they read with a summary or a drawing from the chapter. Read 100 minutes this week!
Writing-3 Writer's Notebook Entries
**Tomorrow is SPRING PICTURES! Students may bring a prop if they like.
Have a nice night!
