February 15th

Here's what we did today:
Math-We learned how objects can have the same perimeter, but different areas or vice versa.  The test over area and perimeter will be on Friday.

Word Study-We went over combing and separating sentences.  There will be a brief quiz on this tomorrow.

Reading-We read Stellaluna and talked about what the theme is.  We agreed that "friendship" is the main theme of the book.  We discussed how you can use the theme to help figure out what the main idea is of the book and then to write a summary from there.

Writing-The students did a great job typing their biographies today!  We will be finished with these by Friday and I'm excited for them to share!

Students also worked hard on a MAP communication arts packet to end the day.

Homework:
Math-WS 29.3--all problems, except for the fraction ones

Word Study-Review for the quiz.

Reading-100 minutes!

Writing-I am collecting Writer's Notebooks this week.  I've collected 6 today and will collect a few more each day to read through them.  Make sure you write your three entries this week!

Science-WS due tomorrow

Have a great night!
