March 30th

I am so proud of the students for the hard work they did today on the MAP test! I know they all tried their best and I couldn't ask for more-they should be very proud of themselves! We will continue testing tomorrow so please make sure they get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and arrive to school on time. Thanks!

They are bringing home Dogwood trees today and a yellow slip of paper with instructions on planting the tree in honor of Arbor Day. Feel free to post a picture after planting the tree (or email one to me and I will post)!

Tonight's homework:
Math-WS 18.2

Have a great evening and enjoy this perfect spring weather!

March 29th

Tomorrow is the first day of testing for fourth grade. Homework during testing will be minimal so that students can relax at night and get a good night's sleep. It is important that each student is on time every day because if they arrive past the test starting time (9:00), they will not be able to test that day and will need to miss class on a later date to make up the test. Students also need to eat a good breakfast in the morning that will give them plenty of energy for the test. The cafeteria will be offering inexpensive breakfast on testing mornings.

I know the students are ready to show what they know!

Math-WS 17.3 and continue to study geometry definitions

Tomorrow is our Tungsten Pizza Party! If you are able to and have not done so already, please send a dollar to school tomorrow to help cover some of the cost. Students may bring a drink of their choice or get milk from school. Thanks for your help! I know the kids are looking foward to the party!

Students are bringing home a note about MAP trail mixes. We will be making a special trail mix for snack each day of testing (6 days). We do have a student with a peanut allergy so please stick to the items on the list or make sure the package says it was not produced around peanuts. Thanks!

March 22nd Homework

Reading-Don't forget to read for your book log this week.

Math-WS 17.1 All problems, WS 25.2 Odds

Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope everyone had a great week off! We got right back into the swing of things today and are working hard to get ready for the MAP test. We will test Communication Arts next week and Math two weeks later. It is really important for all students to be at school each day for this week and April so they don't miss anything.

In other news . . . the students have earned a PIZZA PARTY this Thursday for lunch. They did a great job on this month's Tungsten test. If you are able, please send your child with $0.50 or $1 to school to help cover part of the cost. They should bring a drink to school on Thursday for lunch.

Finally, conferences are this Friday in the afternoon. If you are planning to request a conference, please send the form back to school by tomorrow or Wednesday so I can get everyone scheduled.

Thanks for your help with all these spring events!
