September 22nd homework

Reading-Continue to work on the book logs. Please complete your reading group assignment. I will be meeting with Harry the Poisonous Centipede, Cricket in Times Square, and Justin and the Best Biscuits in the World tomorrow.

Math-WS 4.5-all, WS 4.6 #1-4-Don't forget, Chapter 4 test is Thursday. First multiplication quiz is tomorrow on the 2's.

Science-Study for rock quiz tomorrow.

Social Studies-Page 79, #1-4 is due tomorrow. Don't forget Chapter 1 test is Friday.

Please get your progress reports signed. You only need to return the bottom portion.

September 21st Homework

Reading-New book logs were handed out today. Please begin working on them tonight. If your group met today, make sure you do the assigned reading and assignment.
Summer Camp-Read chapters 4-7 and complete Dialogue Director sheet (due Thursday)
Cricket in Times Square-Read chapters 1-2 and complete Director sheet (due Wednesday)

Math-WS 4.3, all problems, WS 4.4, only the problems we circled in class--Chapter 4 test will be Thursday

Science-Study for quiz on Rocks Wednesday. Students should have a sheet of paper stapled into their planner with study instructions.

Social Studies-Page 79, #1-4, is due on Wednesday-Chapter 1 test will be Friday, WS packet is due day of test.

Writing-First draft is due Monday. It should be on lined paper and you need to skip lines.

Spelling-Groups 2, 3, and 4 your contract is due Monday if you haven't already turned it in.

Social Studies-Page 79 #1-4, not due till Wednesday

September 16th homework

Reading-Keep working on your book log!

Spelling-Groups 1 and 2 will have their test tomorrow, contract due Friday. Groups 3 and 4 have a test Friday, contract due Monday.

Math-WS 4.1, ALL problems-This might be a bit tricky so look at the back side of your paper for a review if you are having trouble.

September 15th homework

Word Study-Write a paragraph (at least 5 sentences). Underline the nouns and circle the adjectives. Continue to study your spelling words and work on your spelling contract.

Social Studies-We will be making our maps tomorrow so if you have not yet brought in your supplies, especially the posterboard and/or dough mixture, you need to bring it in tomorrow.

Remember that tomorrow is an Early Release so make sure you know how you are getting home.

Reading-Students received their new book logs today. They will be due next Monday, the 21st.

Math-Study for the Chapter 3 test tomorrow.

Social Studies-If you have not already brought in your mixture of 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup salt and either posterboard or newspaper, please do so by tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest. We will be making the maps Wednesday and cannot allow for any makeups at school due to time.

September 10th homework

Math-WS 3.4 odd #'s from 1-21, no Mixed Review

Social Studies-Study for your geography quiz tomorrow-It will be open book, but you should look through the maps at the beginning of your book and make sure you understand latitude, longitude, how to use a compass rose, and how to find different things such as continents, oceans, rivers, etc.

Don't forget to wear red, white, and blue for the Hero's Assembly tomorrow!

September 8th-homework

There were a lot of notes that went home today so please make sure to check your child's backpack/give to your parents!

Reading-Start working on your book log for next Monday. There were quite a few students who did not hand one in today and that will impact their reading grade. Make sure to complete it correctly with the title, minutes read, and a short summary.

Math-Chapter 2 tests were returned today. Please sign/correct if necessary. Tonight's HW is WS 3.1, odd #'s and all of the Mixed Review. We are working on mental math so please don't solve these using the traditional algorithms. Try different strategies in your head!
